Choosing an exchange to buy and sell Bitcoin should be done with care.
Different exchanges provide various levels of safety, security, privacy, liquidity and asset control.
Using the table below you can list and sort the various Bitcoin Exchanges by Volume, overall ranking, and country of origin.
Volume is one of the most important factors when choosing an exchange. If you are trading on a cryptocurrency exchange that has low volume, there is a high probability you will experience slippage and unexpected losses while trading.
For example, if you place a market sell order and there are not enough buyers at the level you want to sell, the price will start moving down looking for buyers to sell to. Depending on the depth of the market you are trading, you could lose a significant percentage to slippage.
The Exchange Country of origin is another important factor, if you live in the US you may find that there are a number of exchanges that do not accept US customers.
Also consider security, privacy and fee structure while making your decision.
